Beautiful Bonnets to Behold on Fifth Avenue for the Easter Promenade

10 Apr
Spring Has Sprung on 5th Ave.

The annual Easter Promenade on 5th Avenue was buzzing with energy with thousands of people celebrating the new season of Spring and the Holiest of days in Christianity. Hundreds of people wore decorated hats of all sizes and shapes. Several groups dressed up in vintage clothing from the late 19th century, when the affluent society from New York would dress in their fanciest clothes and promenade up and down Fifth Ave. The annual ritual has evolved over time obviously and has become as fun as any parade in the great City. This is an informal display of New York creativity right in front of the famous St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Police barricade about 8 blocks on 5th Ave. just for the event. It truly is a unique New York City event and easy to participate in…just dress up in your Sunday best. Hope you enjoy the photo roll as much as I has taking them.
